Election Day: Texans begin voting as campaigning continues in DFW area
Context-Corner visited several high-profile voting spots with several primary battles on the cards
Texans began voting this morning as campaigning continued in Collin County, which is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area, northern Texas.
Primary day in Texas saw several high-profile battles going on, especially for U.S. Senate where incumbent senator John Cornyn is battling just to make it through the primary against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the democratic primary for that same seat, also hotly contested with relative political new comer James Talarico coming on hard in the last two weeks catching congresswoman Jasmine Crockett in the polls.
People at this location in Tarrant County waited as long as 45 minutes to vote during the busiest times, as captured by Context-Corner journalist Rich Matthews.
Meanwhile, there was great support at Murphy, with voters lining up to cast their ballots.
There was plenty of support, too, for Mark Newgent, the retired Army Captain, buoyant with his America First campaign.
