Community members, seniors, and political candidates gathered outside a Fort Worth Social Security office to protest proposed benefit cuts they say would endanger retirees who rely on the program to survive. Organized by the Texas Alliance of Retired Americans, speakers warned that many older Texans are being forced to choose between food, rent, and essential medications and urged lawmakers to protect and expand Social Security rather than scale it back.
