Iranian Activists to Protest Outside CPAC in Grapevine
Demonstrators plan all‑day rally as former crown prince Reza Pahlavi prepares to address conservative gathering
A group of Iranian activists is planning a demonstration on Thursday, March 26, outside the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Grapevine, calling for an end to Iran’s current leadership.
According to a flyer circulated by IranzVoiceDFW, protesters will gather throughout the day at the entrance of the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center, where CPAC is being held.
Organizers say they intend to form a human chain between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to draw attention to their cause.
The rally is being held in support of Reza Pahlavi, the former crown prince of Iran’s Pahlavi dynasty, who is scheduled to speak at the conference. A CPAC spokesperson said the event is not affiliated with the demonstration, though the conference’s website notes that it “proudly backs” Pahlavi.
Pahlavi is the son of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Iran’s last Shah, who was overthrown during the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The revolution abolished the monarchy and established the Islamic Republic, whose leadership the demonstrators oppose.
The protest comes as Iranian diaspora groups across the United States continue to mobilize against the current government, seeking international pressure and political support for democratic change.
