Progressive Democrat Zeeshan Hafeez Calls for Legal Safeguards to Protect U.S. Democracy
Former tech exec wants to challenge the status quo, pledging to put people over politics, he tells MJ Dawson of Context Corner in a candid interview
In a candid conversation with Context Corner’s MJ Dawson, Texas congressional candidate Zeeshan Hafeez discusses the need for government accountability, the dangers of unchecked influence, and his refusal to accept AIPAC money, while sharing his journey from tech and law to grassroots activism and political reform.
The progressive Democrat running for Congress in Texas’s 33rd Congressional District, Hafeez, says the American public needs proper legal mechanisms in place to protect democracy and the government. Such measures would avert a civil war and ensure that the government is held accountable.
Discussing a variety of subjects, including identity, white supremacy and racism in the United States, Hafeez, a father of four, wants to be part of the change. He won’t accept AIPAC money, says nobody will vote for any leader who has accepted funding via Israel, adding that AIPAC has lost credibility.
The Georgetown-trained attorney and tech executive, who held leadership roles at Google and Microsoft, spoke frankly about several topics, including his journey from tech and law to the campaign trail.
Now he’s challenging the status quo in Texas, AIPAC’s influence on American politics, the Epstein files, the future of the Democrats, and how he plans to put people over politics in a powerful, principled manner.
