Evan Hunt Steps Into the Arena: A Veteran’s Bid to Unseat Texas Incumbent

In a fast-moving campaign, the 20-year Air Force veteran tells Context‑Corner’s Matt Dawson that connecting with communities-not politics-drives his challenge to Representative Keith Self.

In a whirlwind campaign, Evan Hunt, the Democratic nominee running for Federal Congress, in Texas’s Third District, is taking on Republican incumbent Keith Self. Hunt, speaking to Context-Corner Host Matt Dawson says he never felt connected to the community and meeting people as he has while on the campaign trail. “I’m a 20-year combat air force veteran, currently in business, working in tech and defence and technology space. I'm not a politician, but I decided to run because I’m concerned about the route the country is heading in,” he tells Dawson.
