More than 5,000 demonstrators converged on the Texas State Capitol Saturday to protest a Republican-backed congressional redistricting plan that could deliver five additional House seats to the GOP, as Democratic lawmakers prepared to end their two-week exodus and return to Austin for a second special legislative session.
